Cold Steel US Naval Officer's Sword (Issue Handle) (88MNA) |
Points: 18
|
While we heartily approve of our Armed Forces wearing dress swords and sabers, we thought it was a shame that only unsharpened, poorly tempered wall hangers made of weak stainless steel are all that's available.
That's why we decided to make our own truly battle worthy reproductions. They're faithful in every detail to government specifications; they offer highly polished blades, appropriate etching and quality hilts and scabbards.
The only real changes we have made are to drastically improve their performance as weapons by forging them from 1055 Carbon Steel and properly heat treating them to a tough spring temper before sharpening. Sold Out

Hanwei Early Medieval Single Hand - Tinker Pearce Blunt Trainer (SH2405) |
Points: 15
|
The Blunt Trainer early medieval sword features nearly identical handling of its sharp companion, but with thick edges (2mm) and a rounded tip for safe sparring practice.
Tinker Pearce has developed these matching longswords to satisfy the need of every Western Martial Arts practitioner and sword enthusiast, to have a matching set of sharp and blunt swords for cutting and safe training practice. The swords meet Tinker`s exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces. Each blade is forged from 5160 Spring Steel, Marquenched to the desired hardness of 50-53 Hrc while the tang is drawn back to the low 30s Hrc. Teh very end of the tang is threaded to fit an allen nut recessed into the pommel which allows for dimantling of the hilt assembly for inspection or to exchange blades if needed.
What others are saying about the Tinker Pearce Longswords:
"I had the opportunity to handle the prototype Tinker Pearce Line Longswords by CAS/Hanwei, and they are beautiful, well-balanced, quick-handling swords at an excellent price. The sharp and blunt versions handle almost identically in cuts, thrusts, and quick posta (guard) transitions. These promise to be the mid-priced training weapon of choice for longsword studies."

''Lowlander'' Two-Handed Great Sword (Antiqued) (SH2065N) |
Points: 14
|
Wielded with untamed ferocity on many a Gaelic battlefield, the massive Lowlander sword vividly illustrates the might of the Scots of old. Known as Slaughter-Swords in the 16th century, these were the swords of choice for Scottish mercenaries of the period, and at close to six feet long the Lowlander faithfully replicates a surviving museum piece. Though by far the largest sword ever offered by CAS Hanwei, the Lowlander is beautifully proportioned and balanced. The typically Scottish quatrefoils in the ring guards attest to the heritage of this imposing piece. The sword is available in both polished and antiqued finishes, the finish of the SH2065N closely replicating that of the original museum piece. The grips of the Lowlander are leather-covered with an overlaid leather binding. A wall mount is provided to allow the transplanted Gael to display his sword with pride. Sold Out

Hanwei Scottish Basket-Hilt Broadsword (Antiqued) (SH2002N) |
Points: 10
|
Although Basket-Hilt swords appeared throughout Britain from the mid-sixteenth century on, their association with the seventeenth and eighteenth century Scottish highlander has become legendary.
Our Basket-Hilt Broadsword, replicated from an original in the collection of the Royal Armouries in England, carries a typical Glasgow-style hilt from the mid-18th century. It is likely that the blade of the original sword, marked "Andrea Ferara", was made in Germany a century earlier and re-hilted as basket designs were refined.
The sword is available in both polished and antiqued finishes. Both hilts are crafted from stainless steel, to minimize maintenance, that of the SH2002 being polished while the SH2002N "antiqued" version has a museum-quality patina. The high-carbon blade of the SH2002N is also lightly "antiqued" to promote authenticity. The grips of the broadswords are covered with wire-wrapped genuine rayskin and the basket liners are crafted in fabric-covered leather. The scabbards are leather-covered, black in the case of the SH2002 and brown for the SH2002N. Sold Out
