Hanwei Solingen Rapier (SH2205)
Hanwei Solingen Rapier (SH2205) Points: 12
Replicated from a 17th century German piece, our Solingen Rapier and matching Main Gauche exhibit the "blade-catcher" style of quillons used throughout northern Europe. Available in both bright and antiqued versions, both of these pieces will accept the "Practical" sparring blades. All of our rapiers have stainless steel hilts, for reduced maintenance, and high-carbon steel flex-tempered blades. Our three swept-hilt styles (Solingen, Torino, Gustav) are available with hilts in both polished and antiqued finishes. The latter finish, developed by Hanwei, has allowed a museum-quality patina to be applied to stainless steel while the non-corroding properties of the steel are retained. This finish is extremely attractive and gives a very authentic appearance to the piece.

Hanwei Renaissance Style Swept Hilt Rapier (SH1024)
Hanwei Renaissance Style Swept Hilt Rapier (SH1024) Points: 12   Additional photo in details view
Our Renaissance-style Swept Hilt Rapiers trace their origins to early 17th century Europe, where swordplay with the Rapier was considered an essential part of a gentleman's education and was often used in resolving gentlemanly disagreements. Blades generally originated in one of the blade making centers such as Toledo or Solingen, but many differences in styling and hilt materials resulted from the local manufacture of hilts all over Europe. The Main Gauche, or left hand dagger, was often used with the rapier, providing an added dimension in both offense and defense, and the "Schools of Fence" which proliferated in Europe during this period taught the use of the two weapons in combination. The Main Gauche would often match the Rapier in styling, while incorporating features which maximized the effectiveness of the piece.

Cold Steel Saber USMC NCO Saber (88MNS)
Cold Steel Saber USMC NCO Saber (88MNS) Points: 18
While we heartily approve of our Armed Forces wearing dress swords and sabers, we thought it was a shame that only unsharpened, poorly tempered wall hangers made of weak stainless steel are all that's available.
That's why we decided to make our own truly battle worthy reproductions. They're faithful in every detail to government specifications; they offer highly polished blades, appropriate etching and quality hilts and scabbards.
The only real changes we have made are to drastically improve their performance as weapons by forging them from 1050 Carbon Steel and properly heat treating them to a tough spring temper before sharpening.

Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber
Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber
Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber. This saber was widely used by the British and their Prussian allies under General Blucher in the Battle of Waterloo. The blade was derived from the ferocious Indian Talwar and was reviled by the French who protested its use due to the horribly destructive wounds it inflicted.
