The Kumori Japanese Katana (KTN4) is specially handmade and forged from special high carbon Japanese steel making it an extremely sharp, strong and flexible blade with bo-hi (groove). Blade is clay tempered(40/60 HRC) then quenched in the water. Polishing live blade,razor edge and notarae hamon.
The tsuka (handle) is covered in black same' (ray skin) and the Tsuka Ito (handle wrap) is 100% Japanese silk. The Koshirae (menuki, habaki, fuchi, kashira) are handmade from 99% silver.
The Kumori Japanese Katana can be completely disassembled for full maintenance

The Suekoto Hondachi Japanese Katana (KTN5) is specially handmade and forged from special high carbon Japanese steel making it an extremely sharp, strong and flexible blade with bo-hi (groove). Blade is clay tempered(40/60 HRC) , water quenched(not oil) and hand polished. Black matt finish saya included with koiguchi(buffalo horn).
The tsuka (handle) is covered in black same' (ray skin) and the Tsuka Ito (handle wrap) is 100% Japanese silk. The Koshirae (sword mounting/fittings) are handmade from 99% silver.
The Suekoto Hondachi Japanese Katana can be completely disassembled for full maintenance.

The blade is Koto style, forged from Japanse High Carbon steel, clay coated, heat treated(differentially tempered 40/60 HRC), hand polished and features a half bo-hi. The Koshira feature a eligent Koto style design. The saya has a rich dark brown gloss finish with a buffalo horn Koiguchi. The tsuka ito is wrapped in a golden brown Japanese silk with black same' and features brass antique style Fushi, Kashira, tsuba and 99% silver menuki, seppa and silver Habaki.
The Kanshiki Japanese Wakizashi is forged using the Japanese Nihonto metheod and can be completely disassembled for full maintenance. This Japnese wakizashi is extremely sharp and is fully functional.

The saya has a rich black gloss finish with a buffalo horn Koiguchi and silver kurikata. The tsuka ito is wrapped in a black Japanese silk with white same' and features brass antique style Fushi, Kashira, tsuba and 92.5% silver menuki, seppa and silver Habaki.
The Isamashii Japanese Wakizashi is forged using the Japanese Nihonto metheod and can be completely disassembled for full maintenance. This Japnese wakizashi is extremely sharp and is fully functional.

In Japan the traditional method of serving tea is a celebrated art form in itself. This highly ritualized ceremony is an involved process, the most elaborate of which can last hours and is reserved for the most distinguished of guests. Our Tea Culture Daisho (SH2331, SH2332) captures the essence of this important tradition. The Katana and Wakizashi are built upon a traditional Shinogi Zukuri style blade with Bo-Hi. The high-carbon blade is hand forged and differentially hardened using the traditional clay method. The Koshirae (furniture) feature the typical elements present in a Japanese tea ceremony. The handle is wrapped with suede leather in a Katati Make (battle wrap) style.

| Hanwei Paper Crane Wakizashi - Tamahagane (SH2328) |

Our Paper Crane Daisho (SH2294-Katana / SH2328-Wakizashi) is without doubt the greatest achievement in sword making artistry yet available from Hanwei. The blade is crafted from Hanwei's own Tamahagane steel (see below) while the fittings reflect the atmosphere of the Japanese theater. The Daisho's name stems from the origami (the art of paper folding) cranes that decorate the striking Tsuba and Fuchi/Kashira, all of which feature highly-prized "Nanako" or stippled backgrounds. The Menuki feature thespian masks, a symbol shared by the Japanese theater and its western counterpart. The Saya of the katana houses a Kozuka (small knife) while that of the Wakizashi carries a Kogai (hair pick) The Kozuka and Kogai are decorated with musical instruments of the theater. The Paper Crane theme is carried to the outstanding hand woven silk Sageo, the result of many hours of skilled work on a hand loom.

The United Black collection delivers another superior example of the Japanese katana. This is the Shikyo (Japanese for death) katana. This sword measures 109.5 cm and features a mirror polished 74.9 cm blade of hand forged 1045 carbon steel with a heavy blood groove. The blade tang has an exclusive stamp that can only be found on a United Black sword blade. The hardwood handle offers black ray skin and custom leather wrap accented with brass menuki and a uniquely designed cast metal guard and pommel. This item includes a coordinating hardwood sheath and is placed in a traditional cloth sword bag with a collectible hanging medallion and packaged in a custom box. 109.5 cm overall. 29 74.9 cm blade.

The Tori features a "Flying Crane" themed Tsuba and Fuchi/Kashira while the Menuki are Kabuto or Japanese helmets. The high quality brown leather Tsuka-ito is wrapped over black Same. The Oni are mythical creatures from Japanese folklore similar to western demons or trolls. In modern culture they are beginning to move away from this menacing connotation into the role of guardian or protector, similar in character to gargoyles. Their power and ferocity, however, have not diminished. There is a Japanese saying which translates to "Oni with an iron club", or to be of an invincible nature, a fitting association with the 29" L6/Bainite blade on which our Oni Katana is built. The blade features the geometry of our Performance Series for outstanding cutting ability. The 14" tsuka is wrapped in black ray skin and silk ito while the Koshirae feature Oni in various classical styles. A unique combination of folklore and functionality.
