Two handed Danish forged sword |
Points: 15
|
The history of Denmark is filled with tumultuous periods of war and strife, conflicts driven by the same political and religious factors that were widespread throughout Medieval and Post-Medieval Europe. Smaller kingdoms were swallowed up by larger, and larger kingdoms splintered apart. Due to this fairly colorful history, the Danes became known for some distinctive weaponry, of which this Danish Two-Handed Sword is an example.
This sword is classified as an Oakeshott Type XVIIIe, a very unusual member of the Type XVIII group. It features a long, stiff diamond shaped blade with an extremely long handle, making it suitable for cut and thrust swordplay as many other swords were in the later 15th Century. However, this sword also has a long unsharpened ricasso that can be gripped to shorten up the blade for closer work. This option to fight with the “half sword” makes the Danish Two-Handed Sword an incredibly versatile weapon.
Sword comes with leather scabbard. Sold Out

Cold Steel US Naval Officer's Sword (Issue Handle) (88MNA) |
Points: 18
|
While we heartily approve of our Armed Forces wearing dress swords and sabers, we thought it was a shame that only unsharpened, poorly tempered wall hangers made of weak stainless steel are all that's available.
That's why we decided to make our own truly battle worthy reproductions. They're faithful in every detail to government specifications; they offer highly polished blades, appropriate etching and quality hilts and scabbards.
The only real changes we have made are to drastically improve their performance as weapons by forging them from 1055 Carbon Steel and properly heat treating them to a tough spring temper before sharpening. Sold Out

Fencing Rapier - Musketeer Blade (SH1032) |
Points: 10
|
Fencing in the Renaissance style plays a prominent part in historical re-enactment, combining the quickness of light blades with the structure and spirit of the duel. In addition to our Practical Swept Hilt and Cup-Hilt Rapiers we have developed a number of other weapons for the Renaissance fencer and these are presented here.
The Schlaeger Rapiers utilize a popular swept hilt, modified to accommodate our schlaeger blades in 37`` (SH1099) and 43`` (SH1098) lengths. These tapered blades provide a superior balance compared to the traditional parallel-sided schlaegers, making for a faster sword.
The Fencing Rapier, a standard in the sport, is available with either the Schlaeger blade (SH1032B) or double-wide Epee (Musketeer) blade (SH1032). Either blade will fit the OL301 sheath. The Main Gauche (SH1033) is fitted with a training blade that combines adequate parrying stiffness at the forte with tip flexibility for safety, making the piece ideal for two-weapon sparring. The AH2143 mask meets international punch-test standards and is recommended for use with these and any other fencing weapons.
Replacement blade available: OHLASP02. Sold Out
