We have named this impressive Italian sword for the Battle of Chioggia, where the Venetians totally crushed the Genovese forces and ended Genoa as a great sea power. This is a very well-balanced and fast sword with its deeply fluted pommel and beveled guard, both from steel. The grip is wood covered in leather with decorative studs. The well-tempered high carbon steel blade is nicely fullered and the perfect length for a one-hand sword. Comes complete with nicely decorated scabbard. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts

The Shinto Iaito Katana has a hand forged unsharpened stainless steel blade. The stainless steel blade not only provides a maintenance free blade but more importantly provides the correct weight and balance needed for the rigors of repetitive drawing and sword motion practice. The blade features a deep Bo-Hi to provide audible feedback when the sword is swung.
The Saya has been constructed from hard wood and finished in a deep black lacquer with a black Japanese cotton sageo.

The Tori features a "Flying Crane" themed Tsuba and Fuchi/Kashira while the Menuki are Kabuto or Japanese helmets. The high quality brown leather Tsuka-ito is wrapped over black Same. The Meijin Iaito (SH5018) is an amazing testament of the quality produced by CAS/Hanwei. The blade is forged-folded T10 high-carbon steel with grooves (bo-hi) on both sides of the blade, which allows for a lighter blade and audible feedback when swung. The blade is differentially tempered using a traditional claying method and has a beautiful grain pattern (hada) with visible layers. The tsuka is wrapped in genuine ray skin (same) and the tsuka-ito is premium black Japanese cotton. The black iron square tsuba, fuchi, & kashira are done in a "Turbulent Ocean" motif. The habaki is a one-piece brass construction. The saya is done in a beautiful black matte striped finish going the whole length of the scabbard and the sageo is black cotton. The Meijin Iaito represents the pinnacle of production quality for Iaito swords.
